Completed in 1966, One M & T Plaza is the work of American architect Minoru Yamasaki, who is best know for designing the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.  Some similarities between the twin towers and One M & T Plaza include long, slender piers running up the sides of the buildings and the graceful cap accenting the top.   The lobby of the building is open to the public and worth a trip inside for the grandeur of its wide open space, free of any supporting columns.
