You won't have to look far to find the nightlife in Honolulu - just stroll along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues in Waikiki. Well into the night you'll be surrounded by people looking for the next club, bar or other vibrant nightspot. You can find a place to hear local music, dance at a club or sing a song yourself at a karaoke club. Clubs in Honolulu aren't as trendy or as packed as mainland clubs- rarely is it difficult to get into any club of your choosing. Dress is also less strict/formal- it's Hawaii after all!
There are also a few local comedians (Bumatai, De Lima) that have local shows several nights a week, and are a great introduction to Hawaiian culture (though prepared to be confused).
Or go to a show to see native dancers doing the Hula - many shows are free with dinner at hotels in Waikiki.
Cocktail and Dinner cruises give you the opportunity to look at Waikiki from the ocean as it lights up for the night. Dance and dine the evening away from the deck of the ship.
There is also "Elvis" to see and is currently at the Waikiki Beachcomber also. Jonathon Von Brana performs. Nightly except for Tuesdays. Great show www.bluehawaiitheshow.com.
