Follow Hadrian's Wall westward for Birdoswald, Chesters and Housesteads forts - all fascinating and impressive heritage sites. The abbey town of Hexham is only 4 miles west of Corbridge and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with its fabulous Quayside and Gateshead's Sage Music Centre just 16 miles east. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Excellent pet friendly property
A great base in a pet friendly flat in an historic town. Clean and tidy with everything that was needed. Even Wine, bread and milk were provided. The parking space was small, particularly when large vehicles were manoeuvring past each day of our stay.

Lovely place to stay
Stayed here a couple of weeks ago, and the flat is perfectly placed for exploring Northumberland. The coast is about an hour away, as is the National Park. The fresh bread, wine, and milk were very welcome! There’s a very well stocked Coop about 50yds away, and a plethora of cafes and pubs to choose from. Ideal for families with older children as there are a lot of stairs. The flat has everything you could need, apart from a DVD player, but that’s only a personal thing! I’d definitely stay there again

Great comfortable place to stay in the heart of Corbridge.
We wanted to be close to family and we couldn’t get any closer than this. The apartment was very comfortable, warm and welcoming and the rooms surprisingly big. Highly recommended.

Excellent short break
Arrived to an immaculate apartment with wine and milk in fridge and fresh bread in supply- thank you. The property is ideally situated in the small market town of Corbridge. No need to use the car for shopping restaurants and bars. Excellent tea room at end of street and co-op a few houses along. Clean and well equipped for family, couples or friends.

Quality accomodation in interesting village
An excellent, spacious flat on Corbridge high street that has all the facilities you need for a comfortable, leisurly stay. Plenty of shops, including a good Coop and several specialist retailers. Friendly pubs, especially The Bluebell, and some good places to eat within walking distance. Hexham, Hadrian's Wall and the wider Northumberland countryside are within easy reach and there are plenty of walks in the area. We stayed over the Bank Holiday/half term so there was some noise at night at closing time but nothing too serious. Would recommend this accomodation to anyone wishing to visit the area.

Perfect location . All amenities necessary for a family break.Onlydownside was the location of bathrooM
Location of bathroom was the only downside as it's located two floors down from the bedrooms.Clean tidy rooms, well equipped kitchen however the cooker could do with an upgrade as the cooker temperature dial was difficult to read due to age of cooker. Off street parking a bonus as the village can get very busy.

About the neighbourhood
Corbridge is a jewel in the crown of Northumberland. Lying just off the A69, about 18 miles west of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, it grew from the Roman town of CORSTOPITUM, a supply town for the troops on Hadrian's Wall. From the beginning Corstopitum provided much of the building stones used in the construction of many of the village buildings, including the church, Vica';s Pele and nearby castles. In the thirteenth century Corbridge was second only to Newcastle in wealth and its citizens were heavily taxed to help pay for Edward 1's Scottish wars and its mediaeval street plan is much the same today. The Saxon church however has trebled in size by the addition of aisles, transepts and chancel to the inner Saxon tower and naïve whilst The Vicar Pele illustrates the fierceness of Border warfare which burnt Corbridge to the ground several times. The bridge at Corbridge is the oldest of the mediaeval bridges which became derelict by the 17th century, and was finally replaced in 1674. As far back as 1827 Corbridge was a place renowned for its small shops and several of the decorated fronts still survive. Today Corbridge is still known for its quaintness and unique boutique shops and is an ideal base to explore the beauty of Northumberland.
