This was a last minute booking for my family and our friends. We were 4 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 dogs. From the moment we arrived we fell in love with the house. It is comfortable, beautifully furnished and was lovely and warm. Everything you could need was there. It is also practical for 2 families with the living accommodation in the centre and the bedrooms at each end, so you can also have a little bit of privacy too. There was no problem with the dogs either as the living space isn't carpeted and there is a huge entrance hall with plenty of space for drying wet/muddy dogs and leaving wellies and coats. The house is just off of the A30 so easily found (far enough away so that you can't hear the road). If you are thinking of booking this house, do it you won't be disappointed! more

Michael's Port is a superbly equipped house; every bedroom is a good size and en-suite, the kitchen is spacious and well kitted out and the lounge is fabulous.

It's well decorated with beautiful wooden furniture and fittings throughout, the beds are comfortable and it has everything you could need - dishwasher, tumble dryer and washing machine. Free wireless Internet access is provided for those who can't bear to be parted from their laptop for a week like me.

The location is excellent with Honiton just down the road providing a Tesco as well as other shops and restaurants, and numerous other places to visit are no more than a 20 minute drive. Even Dartmoor was only 40 minutes.

The only thing I felt was missing - and this is my personal preference for a winter stay - is an open fire or wood-burning stove which would just finish off the cosy country feel.

One downside (very minor) is that the building itself blocks your view to the right when getting...
