'Ijeoma’
is a fantastic, brand new Bequia beach-side property, furnished to a
very high standard, that is available to rent from January 2010.  It is
a single split level property with five bedrooms and five en suite
bathrooms capable of taking up to 12 guests in total. Ijeoma Upper level contains the main 2 bedroom main house with a self contained studio apartment on the same level. The lower level contains 2 additional self contained apartments making this flexible property ideally suited to mixed groups. .
‘Ijeoma’
is a plantation style house finished in white render under a red tiled
roof with mahogany windows, doors and balustrades. Its name has been
carefully thought of by the owners to link in well with the history of
this beautiful island. ‘Industry Bay’ was derived from the thriving
19th century sugar cane plantations on this part of Bequia.  The slaves
used were mainly from West Africa, and the principle Nigerian language
was, and still is, Igbo.  In this language, Ijeoma means ‘lucky’ or
good omen’.
A beautiful location
‘Ijeoma’ faces
directly South a mere 120ft from the lovely and peaceful Crescent
beach, and at 50ft above sea level the property enjoys stunning,
panoramic southern ocean views and easy, direct, access to this
beautiful beach.From the upper level guests can look out at the islands
of Mustique, Balliceaux and Battowia.  The lower level looks over the
garden down to the beach.
‘Ijeoma’ is set in one acre of land
and has no close neighbours. It is accessed by a private driveway, and
has sloping gardens.  There is also access from the house directly to
the beach – a fantastic and rare feature on this island. From this
location, the busy harbour of Port Elizabeth is a ten minute drive
away, and it is also just a short drive to reach three of Bequia’s
other beautiful beaches – Friendship, Princess Margaret and Lower Bay.
The beaches of Spring and Park and the famous Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary
are short walks north and south around the respective headlands.
Features of Ijeoma
‘Ijeoma’
has a wide veranda wrapping around the South, East and West sides to
provide shade and cooling inside.  The upper level has a 29 foot
freshwater infinity pool with adjacent lounging area, a separate sun
deck, and a covered gazebo area and BBQ.
All the kitchens,
bathrooms and wardrobes are hand built and finished in either solid
mahogany, or gloss white wood. The rooms on the upper level have
traditional high, open, hand finished ‘pickled’ white boarded ceilings,
cream walls and modern pale ceramic gloss tiled floors.
Each bedroom has air
conditioning and these and the sitting areas also have ceiling fans.
All the rooms except one bedroom have South facing 10 foot wide folding
mahogany French doors opening to the verandas with views over Industry
Bay and to Mustique. The other bedroom has South facing windows. All
this gives each room a bright spacious feeling, supplemented by stylish
and comfortable furnishings.
Each bedroom has its own en suite
shower room,  king size beds (with one being a
magnificent full four-poster), dressing table and occasional table,
chairs and a Flatscreen TV, and CD player with radio and iPod dock.
The
main, separate, U-shaped kitchen, opens off the sitting room via an
archway and has beautiful, hand built mahogany wall and base units with
a double sink, and stylish black granite worktop.  Facilities include
US-style fridge freezer with chilled water dispenser and ice-maker,
microwave, large range oven with extractor hood, washing machine and a
full range of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils. There is a great
serving area opening directly onto to the veranda and sun deck.
Guests
can relax and enjoy their Bequia vacation in style: The main sitting
room has a 6-seater solid marble dining table, leather three piece
suite, matching solid marble coffee table, black ebony finish sideboard
and matching TV/HiFi unit with large Flatscreen TV, surround-sound AV
amplifier and hi-fi speakers, radio, CD and DVD players and iPod dock.
The room is lit with two stunning cut-glass chandeliers.
There
is also a Wi-Fi enabled multifunction printer/fax/scanner/copier, and a
semi-professional weather station displaying the current weather
conditions including UV index.
The bright and airy sitting room
opens out via 16 foot wide French doors to give a stunning panoramic
view over Industry Bay and access to the swimming pool directly in
front.
All the rooms have Wi-Fi broadband internet connectivity,
and there is an independent security system operated by an entry pad or
key-ring fob.
The pool is lit at night and there are outside wall lights throughout.

Outside
on the upper level there is big 29 foot by 12 foot swimming pool with
three-sided infinity edge looking directly South over the bay towards
Mustique. This level also has two separate sun decks (one by the pool).
There are ample sun loungers for
getting that tan, and outside mahogany dining tables and chairs for
that romantic breakfast or evening meal perhaps. The upper level has a
shady covered gazebo area with rattan settees and cushions - a great
area in which to relax - and of course has direct access to the pool
and sundecks.  The area has a gas BBQ, bar stools and a coffee table -
perfect for placing those vacation cocktails.
Stroll straight onto the beach... just
take the steps down from the sun deck down the driveway and your soon on the beach.
There’s an outside freshwater shower for washing the salt away on your return.
Parking is available for three cars and there is a level turning area.
Three en suite bedrooms on the upper level …
The
master bedroom suite has a magnificent king-size mahogany four poster
bed with matching mahogany furniture: dressing table and chair, coffee
table and bedside cupboards, and leather arm chair. It looks South over
Industry Bay with wide French doors opening to a shaded veranda. There
is air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The walls have romantic Gustav
Klimpt pictures in gold frames, and the room is lit with a gorgeous
cut-glass chandelier. There is a CD/radio hi-fi player with iPod dock.
Off
the bedroom is a en-suite with large walk-in shower, two basins and
w.c. There is a large separate walk in closet capable of more than
taking clothes for two. It has a large safe for valuables.
The
second bedroom has a king-size mahogany sleigh bed and matching
mahogany bedside cabinets, dressing table and occasional table with
leather arm chair. It has a walk-in closet and en-suite shower room.
The bedroom looks out directly South via large French doors to the
gazebo area and is lit by a lovely cut-glass chandelier.
The
third bedroom is enormous with its own kitchen area and en-suite with
large walk-in shower, basin and w.c.. Like the others, this is also
fitted out with beautiful mahogany furniture – king size sleigh bed,
matching bedside cabinets, double-width wardrobe and dressing table. It
has a matching mahogany coffee table, occasional table and two leather
arm chairs. There is a flat-screen TV, and CD player/tuner with iPod
dock. There is also a safe for your valuables.
If this wasn’t
enough, the kitchen area has a black granite work top, 4-ring halogen
hob, built-in combination microwave/oven, stainless steel sink, and
fridge with freezer compartment. There is plenty of storage, ample
crockery and cutlery, and a glass-topped dining table so you can be
self-contained yet still be part of your vacation group.
This bedroom also looks South over the bay with large French doors opening to a veranda and one of the two sun decks.
These
three sumptuous traditionally designed and furnished bedrooms make them
perfect for unwinding in after a busy day exploring all that beautiful
Bequia has to offer.

‘Ijeoma’ can either be rented as just the upper level with three bedrooms for up to six guests, as a single 1 bedroom apartment,a combination of apartments or as the entire property including the 2 self contained lower apartments.
