    This lovely cottage sleeps up to six people and has three bedrooms. It is on a peaceful, private lane in the small farming hamlet of Alton, in the award-winning parish of Ashover and is on the eastern side of the Peak District. There are fantastic views across the valley towards Hardwick Hall (National Trust) and Bolsover Castle (English Heritage). A short drive west across Beeley Moor takes you to Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall.

    During most of the year we can offer changeover days of Friday, Saturday or Monday for short breaks or weekly stays. Please contact us if you have different requirements. We try to be flexible where possible.

    Please check our website for short break prices for specific dates. The short break prices quoted are a guide price and may go up or down e.g. we offer 4 nights for the price of 3 for 4-night short breaks from Monday to Friday. The nightly price for mid-week short breaks shown on the pricing table assumes a 4-night stay.

    The rental includes all heating, electricity and other running costs plus an initial supply of logs and coal for the open fire. Towels and bedding are all included in the price.

    Payment can be made by sterling cheque, bank transfer or by debit or credit card through PayPal. We make a small charge for UK card payments with additional charges for overseas payments to reflect actual costs incurred.

    Our two cottages are situated in the small village of Alton close to Ashover. They are 5 miles from both Matlock and Chesterfield but there is no public transport in the village so a car is essential. Travelling time from either junction 28 or 29 of the M1 motorway is around 20 minutes.

Gorgeous quaint cottage with everything you could wish for and more. We stayed over the weekend whilst attending a family wedding at The Peak Edge Hotel and Red Lion venue which is only 2/3 miles away and cost £8 in a local taxi.
