    This cottage is ideal for relaxing or activity holidays because fantastic central but rural location.

    It is situated close to the small village of Whitwell, in an area of outstanding natural beauty surrounded by stunning views. This idyllic rural setting gives you the chance to see the numerous species of birds who regularly visit the area, and you may also see other wild-life including foxes, badgers, rabbits and hares.

    Railway: Sandown: 13.0 km
    Ferry: East Cowes: 19.0 km
    Depending on your starting point take the ferry to from Portsmouth to Fishbourne or from Southampton to East Cowes. Travel to Newport (the main Island town) then at St Georges Roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A3020 (signposted Shanklin, Ventnor, Sandown).
    At Blackwater Junction turn right onto the A3020 (signposted Shanklin, Godshill).
    At Rookley turn right onto Niton Road (signposted Blackgang).
    Continue along this road past straight through the cross roads until you go round a sharp right hand bend.
    After this bend you will see Ford Barn Lane on your left.
    Take this unmade road and follow to the top where it goes round to the left. Ford Barn holiday cottage is the first cottage on the left. You can park either side of the telegraph (or both sides if your party has 2 cars).

Ford Barn is a fairly new accommodation, in a nice location not far from lots of the lovely coastline of the Isle of Wight. It's a quiet location, plenty of parking and a small, but enclosed and private garden. The rooms are a nice size and the main room is lovely and bright. Some of the technology needs tweaking to get this location to be as good as it looks in the pictures, but nothing that you can't live with for a weeks holiday, however feedback to the rental persons has been very well received and it seems that any small changes required are definitely going to be addressed. I would recommend this property for a family who are looking for somewhere nice to stay in the Isle of Wight. more
