A wonderful holiday!
We have had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful Gite in stunning surroundings. The setting was idyllic and made for the perfect holiday. The Gite was lovely and very well equipped - the outside kitchen was fantastic - we had little or no need to use the inside kitchen! The pool and garden were perfect - we spent many an afternoon in the pool and every evening out in the garden enjoying the fantastic views and sunsets. Brantome was a firm favourite and close by as was the lake at Nanteuill just a few minutes drive away from the Gite. If you are lucky enough to be there when the village has an event then make sure you go along - we had a fabulous evening with the locals. In short we had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful Gite and we would like to say a massive thank you to our great hosts Sarah and Nick. We would highly recommend staying here! Thank you!

Truly relaxing location
Our first trip to the Dordogne and we were not disappointed. A warm welcome from Sarah started a wonderful week enjoying the beautiful location, weather and French food. We made a trip to Bordeaux which is an impressive city, Perigeux (although we missed the famous morning market because it poured with rain!) but really enjoyed our visit and the fantastic French ice cream in a local cafe. The chateau at Hautefort is well worth a visit, really stunning. We tried a couple of local restaurants, one in the village which is just a short walk away and one in Thiviers, both of which served delicious food and everyone we met was really friendly, helping us out in when we struggled with the language. We all truly relaxed for the week after a long awaited holiday, the garden is so peaceful. All you can hear is bird song and the breeze in the trees. Wish we were still there.

Romantisch, royaal huis
Kortom: aanrader.

Incredible stay
From the start, Sarah & Nic were the perfect hosts and could not do enough for us. We even had a delicious welcome pack on our arrival, which was the perfect start to our holiday. The gite had everything you would need. It was clean, spacious and full of character, laid out over the three floors. The well equipped outside kitchen and barbecue were perfect for outdoor living - in fact we never used the indoor kitchen. The pool was clean and private and definitely something which we welcomed in the hot weather. We would highly recommend this beautiful gite and gorgeous little village setting and we are already looking to book a return visit. We cannot thank both Sarah and Nic enough!

Absolutely fabulous
After spending many hours researching gîtes in the Dordogne we were delighted with our stay at Gîte Peyre St Front. Sarah and Nic could not have been better hosts, with terrific restaurant recommendations and an endless resource for tourist information on where to visit and local knowledge. We even joined our lovely hosts and some of their friends at the Corgnac Sur L’Isle annual maigret (duck) soirée, what a fantastic night with live music, dancing and fireworks, a very memorable evening. The gite is centrally located to visit so many of the wonderful sights of the Dordogne such as Brantôme, Périgueux, Sarlat-la-Canéda, Chateau Hautefort, and the many networks of caves such as the famous Lascaux near the village of Montignac. We found the accommodation very clean, comfortable and well decorated. As a family of four we had plenty of space, there is a bathroom on each of the three floors and we spent a lot of time out by the pool. The outdoor kitchen has beautiful views and a well equipped to cook your meals outdoors. The village of Corgnac Sur L’Isle was lovely. It is only a short walk from the gite, with a little park for the children to play by the river, a lovely boulangerie where we purchased our crossants and pain au chocolats each morning, a little corner store and a bar where you could take your pastries and enjoy a coffee. The local restaurant Le Corgnacois’ menu was not only good value but very tasty and great service. On our last day we visited the Vélo Rail which was great fun, particularly in the way back down. Our two weeks at Le Gite Peyre St Front was a wonderful experience, we highly recommend and hope to return ourselves one day. Thank you Sarah & Nic for helping us make such wonderful family memories.

Lovely large and welcoming Gite
What a lovely Gite, and great hosts - Sarah and Nic. We spent two weeks here, at a time when the temperatures were soaring, but the Gite was nicely cool during the day and there are enough areas with shade, and plenty of parasols to hide from the sun when you need/want to! The pool was spotlessly clean, and a great place to cool down, but still big enough to undertake a little exercise whilst on holiday. A good number of pool loungers for laying out. The addition of the well equipped outside kitchen and dining area was invaluable. In the whole two weeks, we never ate indoors once. Breakfast and coffee on the outside patio seating whilst the sun came up, as well as using the built in barbeque (on many occasions) and the kitchen to cook an evening meal to eat watching the sun set over the trees and meadow. Indoors the Gite has loads of space, and we particularly liked the old oak floors - so nice to walk on. Two full shower/basin/toilet rooms, one on each upper floor, along with a separate toilet and shower on the ground floor was helpful with a number of guests. Nicely close and easily walkable into Corgnac for bread, bar and restaurant. Visited the Marche Gourmand in Perigueux on Wednesday evening which was great (only about 35 minutes away) and a lovely atmosphere. Make sure you get there in time for the 7pm start to ensure a seat, as it gets busy, All in all a great Gite in a lovely area with very helpful hosts. Thanks Sarah and Nic!

Relaxing week in a lovely gite
We've just returned from a week long stay at this gite. The accommodation is lovely and the hosts could not have made us more welcome. The pool is private and in a very sunny position. The interior of the gite is nicely furnished. The outside kitchen is a cracking idea and we used it a lot. The gite is situated 5 minutes walk from a small village with a cafe, shop, bakers & restaurant. Would recommend staying here, and also having a go on the local velorail, if you're feeling energetic!
