    Condo/Apartment –
    1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6
Flat 3, is part or Terra Alpina, a former farmhouse that was completely rebuilt and converted to six luxurious holiday apartments in 2007/ 2008. It sits 300 metres above the road to the St. Bernard tunnel and is half-way between the centre of Aosta and the Swiss border (15 minutes in either direction). It is very convenient for the ski resorts of the Aosta Valley.

Even by the standards of the Alps, the views are spectacular. From north to south there is a 30 km panorama across the Aosta Valley surrounded by dramatic Alpine peaks. It sits at an altitude of 1,300 metres, so the environment is extremely lush in summer and relatively mild in winter.

    Additional amenities & feature info
The apartment is equipped to a very high standard. The kitchen is equipped as a full domestic kitchen, not a holiday rental unit. The bathroom is very stylish with a high quality bath and shower. The highlight of the apartment is the combined lounge/conservatory which is over 30 ft long and has access both to the garden (from the conservatory) and the balcony (from the lounge).
It's size means it can also serve as the focal point if a group of friends want to take over all the apartments. With space for 20 people to sit down for dinner, large groups can easily spend evenings together. Of course, groups of four or six can simply enjoy the light, airy feel of the apartment.

This was our 2nd stay at Terra Alpina. We came to ski but rarely got out before 11 am as the flat was to enjoyable. Reading books and magazines with a panoramic view of the alps in my peripheral vision is a pleasure not soon to be forgotten. Hosts Jay and Maria were great too, helping get our winter tire-less lousy rental car through a couple of unusual snow storms (great for skiing) and advising us on where to ski. We skied Crevacol, Pilla, La Thuille and the Monta Rosa area - all within a reasonable drive. With several snowfalls after Christmas, conditions were great both on and off piste. We also enjoyed the hike/bike/snowshoe trails right outside our doorstep. It was our 2nd stay but certainly not our last. more

We had an idea from the photos on the website that the appartments would be of a high standard but we were still taken aback when we walked in to Flat 3 and saw the breathtaking views across the valley from the spectacular conservatory. If the skiing hadn't been so good we would have quite happily sat there all day enjoying the scenery.
The flat is very tastefully decorated and well appointed. Our family of five fitted in very comfortably and as we were part of a larger group who were staying in the other flats, it was great to have the spacious living area to congregate and socialise.
It's perfect if you like a rural setting without being too remote as it only took 20-25 minutes to get down to Aosta. The road is kept clear but snow chains or socks are essential.
The skiing in Pila was superb (quiet slopes and comparitively cheap mountain restaurants).
All in all, one of our best skiing holidays and we would definitely like to go back to Terra Alpina.
