    Driving - We strongly suggest that you enter the post code CB22 5BX into either your sat. nav. or Google Maps. Either will probably get you to the junction of Haverhill road and Gog Magog Way. (Tested with Tom Tom and Google maps but not all sat. nav. systems)

    With the Stapleford recreation ground on your left, drive out of the 30 mph speed zone and after approximately 1/2 mile take the first driveway on the left (sign for Keepers Cottage). We stayed at The Stables for 2 weeks over the Christmas New Year period. Although looking quite rustic on the exterior, the inside was modern, well equipped, warm and comfortable. It is a deceptive property and its rustic exterior hides the fact that there is the equivalent to 12 inches of insulation in many areas, which makes it warm even on the coldest days. We stayed at The Stables for a week whilst visiting a number of friends in the area. The Stables are an unusual property - a wooden construction but, despite some really wild weather, we were always warm and comfortable throughout the stay. The grounds are stunning and the children loved exploring the pathways cut through the wooded area as well... more

We were down to go to the Cambridge folk festival and this place just fitted the bill. We were close enough that access to the city and the festival was very straightforward, but just far enough away to give us the sense of being in the middle of the countryside. The weather was extremely hot but the house remained comfortable.... more
