    The cottage which sleeps 4 has a large open-plan sitting room/dining room/kitchen, with a wood-burning stove and free Wifi throughout. Upstairs there is a bathroom and two double bedrooms (one with a balcony). All rooms look over the sea.

    A quarter of a mile down a steep road to the left, as you look out to sea, is a natural sandy harbour in the middle of Mousehole. Along the coast road beyond Mousehole are Newlyn and Penzance.

    How to get there
    Airport: Newquay, one hour: 73.0 km
    Railway: Penzance, twelve minutes: 6.4 km
    By Rail: The London Paddington to Penzance mainline ends overlooking Mount's Bay to the sound of the gulls, just yards from the sea.Take a taxi from here to the house, (12 minutes). Alternatively, Europcar is just opposite the station if you prefer to hire a car. Returning, the sleeper service departs Penzance late, pulling in at Paddington station around 5.30 am. Disembarkation can be as late as 8.00 am.

    A handy tip: to cut down your travelling time by train, get out at Exeter St David's, and jump into your pre-arranged taxi (Loraine can order one for you, £140).

    By Road: The drive to Carn Du takes 4.5 hours from London. Take the M4 to Bristol, then the M5 to Exeter,then A30 to Penzance. From Penzance take the main road around the bay to Newlyn. Upon crossing the bridge take the...

This was a lovely cottage in a superb location. The bed was an emperor size so we felt at home. The views were superb over the coast and it was very quiet which was just what we wanted for a relaxing place to stay. A lovely, cosy, holiday property. The beds were lovely and comfortable. The views of Mousehole harbour and the sea from the property were just stunning on a clear day.
