We have stayed in Island House in Polperro on a couple of occasions. Once in the summer with 4 friends and once in the Winter with our 1 year old son. In the Summer, you can open up the windows and watch the boats coming and going in the harbour. The view is amazing and you could sit there for hours! We also visited last Winter. There is a log burner and the living area is really cosy. The village is quite quiet in the winter which is perfect if you're hoping to escape!
The bedrooms and bathrooms are lovely and bright, comfortable and stylish. The kitchen and dining areas are well equipped and every room in the house overlooks the harbour.
Polperro is a great place to stay with it's pubs and restaurants. Great food, live music and friendly locals. We would also recommend the cliff top walk to Talland Bay. There are also plenty of things to do - Our son loves the model village in Polperro and the Monkey Sanctuary in Looe!
