    1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2
Dating back over 400 years this thatched treat is steeped in history - legend has it that this was once home a particularly tall shepherd which explains the higher than normal ceilings.

Internally the property has been carefully, painstakingly and lovingly restored to provide a very high standard of self catering accommodation, with countless Cotswold charms such as original oak beams, flagstone floors and an inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove.

The property also enjoys many contemporary touches with quality bed and bedding and a sumptuous bathroom which altogether create a real sense of luxury. Externally, the cottage has a delightful and very private garden with superb, far reaching views across Cotswold countryside with the source of the River Thames just a reasonable walk a...

My husband and I spent a weekend at Asphodel in May and it was one of our nicest ever holidays in the UK. The cottage itself is just as lovely as it looks, stylishly restored and full of original artworks, but also doesn’t sacrifice comfort – the sofas are squishy, the bed is giving but firm, and the cottage is... more

I left a hot and steamy Brisbane and arrived at Heathrow on a cold, windy and frosty Monday morning. I froze waiting for the bus to take me to pick up a hire car. I froze while I waited for the car to be checked over before it was released to me. I still had 8 hours to fill before... more

Management response:

Thanks for your feedback! It is a delightful cottage and we're delighted that you both loved the cottage and had a great time, even with the miserable weather. The village is so 'Cotswolds' for sure. Maybe if you come back from sunny Brisbane you can bring some sunshine next time! Thank you again for the feedback more

From the time we stepped through the front (and only) door until we locked it for the last time, we felt privileged to be staying in... more
