    The small detached Granary has recently been sympathetically renovated and now forms a comfortable luxury holiday home. It is in a quiet rural area in a warm sunny location. The Granary lies in the grounds of a medieval almshouse and is situated in a pretty valley with a chalk stream and former watercress beds. It has its own private garden. The Granary offers quiet country style living and is under 15 minutes drive from Canterbury and 20 minutes from the nearest beach.On the first floor is a twin bedroom with a guest bed (suitable for a child), a single bedroom and a bathroom.     The recent works to the property included a high standard of thermal insulation throughout and the storage heaters are more than adequate to heat the property in the winter. There is plenty of hot water for taking a bath or shower. There is a good standard to both the bathroom and a generous walk in shower downstairs. Linen and towels are provided. All bedrooms have 3 drawer pine wardrobes, 3 doors type to double bedroom and 2 door type to the twin and single bedrooms. French windows to the siting area open onto a sunny patio in the garden.

    The ground floor only could be used for anybody with restricted mobility who has difficulty with stairs, as all the facilities are conveniently available on this floor.

    Railway: Bekesbourne, near Canterbury ( 8 minutes): 6.0 km
    Ferry: Dover Eastern Docks ( 26 minutes): 24.0 km
    By road from Europe it is 26minutes from Dover Eastern Docks. The English Channel crossing can be made by ferry, Calais to Dover or by train tunnel (car on train) Calais to Folkestone. The M25 Motoway at Dartford can be reached from the property in 60 minutes.

    By rail Canterbury can now be reached by the high speed rail link to London and indeed Europe via Ashford (16 mins from Canterbury). Times are 56mins. to London St. Pancras and 2hrs from Ashford to Paris. The nearest railway station can be reached from The Granary in 8 minutes and this is at Bekesbourne near Canterbury ; this offers a slower but cheaper link to London. The high speed station in Canterbury can be reached in 14 minutes.

Great place to stay. Silent area, nice garden to play badminton etc. Nice parkingspot in front of the house. Its not a big house, but enough space for 5 people! more

We stayed in this cottage for a week over the Easter holidays and really enjoyed our stay. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the accommodation very clean, well equipped and cosy, it was very central to Howletts, Dover Castle and Canterbury so there was plenty to do. We will hopefully return in the future. more

We loved this holiday let because it was very clean compared to other cottages we have rented. For the first time, we didn't have to clean anything in the kitchen upon arrival.
