My wife and I stayed at Tanners Cottage to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and from the moment we stepped inside we felt at home. The charm and comfort helped us relax immediately. Mixed with the period features we still had the convenience of all mod cons, including a dishwasher and a huge whirlpool bath, which my wife thoroughly enjoyed, along with a nice chilled glass of wine.
The country cottage feel continued into the garden, where there is a decked b-b-q area, which we took advantage of, as the weather was kind to us. This was topped off by the great surprise of a summer house situated at the far end, where you could lie down and drift off into your own world.
The cottage is ideally situated, just a 5 minute stroll to Cockermouth Main street, where you will find plenty of antique and second hand shops to browse.There are a number of good pubs, and restaurants in the town also.
