    Chestnut Farm is located on the banks of the river Ouse within the village of Acaster Malbis only three miles from York. With peaceful country walks all around and the village inn only a short stroll away you can be sure to enjoy a restful break. Or explore the ancient city of York with its museums historic streets and boutique shops, not to mention the huge range of fantastic restaurants.

    The cottage not only retain the original character of the farm but also offer accommodation of distinction and style. The cottages have oak beams, oak floors in living room, slate floors in kitchen/dining room and brick inglenook fireplaces. The owners are always on hand to answer any questions and offer you advice on a great day out.

Access to the City could not be easier; by car - via quiet country roads, by bus - local service stops at the Park entrance, by riverbus - boat picks up 150 metres from Park entrance (summer months only), by park and ride - 2 miles away or by bicycle - York cyclepath 500 yards from Park.

Was going to a friends wedding in Copmanthorpe, just south of York, and wanted to stay somewhere that was only a short taxi ride from the venue. Having spent ages looking for an appartment in York, I came across the Chestnut website and even their cottages were full, but they offered me one of their caravans. Just returned from a two night stay in Cowper Cottage at Chestnut Farm. The cottage was lovely and had all the facilities we needed. The owners were wonderfully helpful and friendly. York city centre is just a short drive. I am sure we will return and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. more
