    Holiday Rental House –
    3 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6
The 18th century millhouse, from which our 3 holiday cottages have been created, is thought to be on the site of the original mill that served the monks on Lindisfarne for many centuries. Today, the exterior retains all the style and charm of the original building, whilst the interiors have benefited from the highest quality eco conversion and have been finished with superior quality furnishings and equipment, with designer fabrics used throughout. The cottages are extremely well insulated and double glazed so you'll stay warm and cosy whatever the season.

In the migratory months the waters outside the cottages play host to vast flocks of geese and other birds on their way to eastern europe and beyond - it's a wonderful sight and we also have regular sightings of deer and fox...

Quiet, rural, coastal location in a county of outstanding beauty, bird life and big skies. Very clean, comfortable accomodation - not the basic holiday let! Fruit cake and a bottle of wine welcome. Efficient, laid-back administration. more

Byre Cottage was comfortable, peaceful, and well equipped, with wonderful views. It was perfect for our family of 6 - grandparents, parents, and 2 grandchildren. So much to do and see, starting with crossing to Lindisfarne, the island of Aidan and Cuthbert. A boat trip to the Farne islands, Howick Hall gardens, Bamburgh Castle, Berwick on Tweed, and walks along... more

Management response:

I am pleased you and your family had a good holiday staying in the Byre cottage. The layout of the cottage gives ideal space for all generations. It was a shame that you caught a particularly cold spell despite it being summer. Hopefully the next time you holiday in North Northumberland the weather will be kinder to you. more

A gorgeous property, well equipped and beautifully maintained. My wife, my mother-in-law and I enjoyed a wonderfully restful time here. The views were astounding and it was a pleasure just to sit and watch the birds feeding in the inlet right outside the giant picture window. The environment is totally rural, with no noise other than that of bird calls... more

Management response:
