    Blackfaulds Cottage dates from 1762 and was completely renovated in 2009 with an architect-designed steel and glass extension at the rear. Once completed, the cottage was featured on the cover of the Sunday Times Home supplement.
    It is situated in the conservation village of Fenwick in Ayrshire, 17 miles south-west of Glasgow.
    Fenwick is also 17 miles north east of the beautiful Ayrshire coast, with easy access to Troon, Arran, Ayr and their famous golf courses. The Rowallan Castle Golf Course designed by Colin Montgomery is 5 minutes drive away. The Rowallan Equestrian Centre is less than 10 minutes away by car.
    It is in the heart of Burns country, being adjacent to the town of Kilmarnock and close to Mauchline and Alloway.

    Fenwick is a conservation village which is world famous as the place where the first co-operative was formed. It is close to the town of Kilmarnock (3 miles), the city of Glasgow (17 miles) and the west coast of Scotland (15 miles). It is 20 minutes from Glasgow Prestwick Airport and 20 minutes from Glasgow International Airport.
    It is a perfect spot for combining touring the above towns, and for close proximity to sailing, walking, golfing and exploring Robert Burns country. Dean Park in Kilmarnock is a beautiful country house park with a castle, playgrounds, small zoo and lovely walks. Culzean Castle, the town of Ayr, the Burrell Collection, the island of Arran and Loch Lomond are all within an hour's drive.
    There is ample on-road parking outside the house, and regular bus service from close to the house towards Glasgow or Ayr.

The property was lovely and clean and we would definitely recommend if you want to be based not too far from Glasgow. Though we had to find our way a little as there was little information on how to deal with rubbish etc. However, when we did contact the owner about the broken washing machine it was fixed promptly which was a blessing when traveling with a baby and toddler! The only other thing that would have made life easier would have been a coffee plunger (and maybe teapot too!) - in the end we drove to Kilmarnock to buy one as coffee in the morning is a must! more
