Firstly, let me start by saying that this is a STUNNING property, finished to the highest standards with beautiful grounds, a very large pool - it's a palace by any standards.

There were a couple of minor issues when we arrived, but these were dealt with relatively quickly by the lovely management team and by week two everything was perfect.

The only minor issues are a lack of facilities for the number of guests the property accommodates - you'd expect enough sun beds for everyone for example, rather than having to take turns to lay out under the beautiful dordogne skies. Likewise matching wine glasses for all the guests - but these are all tiny points and in wanting to write a fair review I thought I should raise them. The garden could also do with some of the sun shade equipment displayed in the photographs, which weren't present when we were there. Our female companions would very much have appreciated an iron and ironing board - but most equipment is covered...

It was very unfortunate that there was a pilot light sensor failure on the Rayburn during your first week, unfortunately, despite regular servicing parts can fail at any time. I have been priveleged to stay here in July 2009, followed by a return visit in August 2010. The undoubted highlight of my stays has been the peacefulness and privacy of the property, particularly relaxing by the pool on a hot summer's day. All needs are catered for with the amenities provided within the house & grounds, so that if you just want to get away from it all and completely rest, there is actually no need to leave the place. For the day trippers, there are many activities and sites of interest in the nearby towns and villages to keep both adults and children entertained. An added bonus for wine buffs is that the beautiful village of St Emillion is a very easy drive from the property. I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my stays and hope to visit again in the future. I am delighted to recommend it as a superb and authentic French rural holiday destination. more
