We immediately fell in love with this charming solid stone gite, part of the old watermill and nestled within its own enchanting wooded valley.
Julie the lovely owner was waiting for us with a warm welcome and encouraged us to explore the picturesque grounds complete with babbling brook.
The gite has a very natural rustic and roomy feel about it with lots of wooden beams and we loved the large wood burning stove at one end of the large bedroom.
Very romantic with a roaring log fire and large comfortable bed assuring a very good nights sleep.
Leave the windows open and you will be gently woken by the sound of the running stream and early morning birdsong.
Delightful Saulieu is a short drive away and has good shopping and superb restaurants with lots of free parking.
The gite is also very well located with easy access to hundreds of square miles of unspoilt forests, lakes and beautiful villages.
We will definitely be returning with so much still to explore... more
