We were a group of 23 staying in these two enormous yet lovely houses. My very first impression was how homely it felt. We lit up a fire and had some delicious local dinner on our arrival (an extra service that is very affordable but SO convenient as shopping was the last thing we had in mind as we arrived in the house). The owner of the place was extremely nice, (she lives a few kilometres away).
A few of us came with children, there were toys which they could play with, and board games for us which was really fun!
The scenery outside is lovely. a beautiful river was just across the path (there is a gate all around the house which made it 100% safe for the youngest (12 month old) of the group! There is a big playground that is a along this path that the kids were dragging us to it nearly everyday!
Despite all the walks and food in the local restaurants (a couple walkable distance from the gite), we actually visited many castles and had a lovely time touring the Loire... more
