Bayeux is too small for decent hostel or Air BnB options, so this is likely to be the cheapest accommodation you'll find. We got it for 32 euros a night.
It's a fifteen minute walk from the train station and ten minutes to the center of town. The reception desk has very limited hours (closed from 11 am to 5 pm and from 10 pm to 8 am, I believe), so it's highly likely you'll have to use the self check-in kiosk that is not close to the door, but in a little wooden shed at the edge of the parking lot. I wouldn't prepay for breakfast, because it is indeed a bad value for the money (5 euros). It's just two types of bread, two types of cereal, and a variety of yogurts. Juices and coffee come from a machine.
The beds are uncomfortable, and barely made by "housekeeping" the next day. The room is small, without an actual closet, and the bathroom is also a squeeze. Wifi is extremely slow. If you're staying just to use it as a base point for the D-Day tour, without... more
