Description:
Vases, urns, and a painted wardrobe ornament this apartment in Florence, Italy. This rental accommodation enjoys amazing views over the river Arno, which you'll cross to find yourself in the center of historic Florence. This palazzo dates back to the 15th century, when the banks of the Arno River were flanked by palazzi [palaces] belonging to patrician families such as the Bardis. The edifice was modified over the centuries until the mid-19th century, when a famous architect, Enrico Poggi, endeavored to transform Florence into a capital city. He modeled the palazzo after the Lungarno Torrigiani area in order to maintain the classical renaissance color palette of cream plaster and gray “pietra serena” stone, which is visible in so many buildings throughout the city.
