    VISITORS COMING NORTH on the M1: We suggest you avoid Derby by taking exit 23A onto the A50 and then the A515 to Ashbourne.

    Visitors approaching from Leek or Ashbourne on the A523: Turn onto the B5053 at a main cross-roadsthe and pass through Onecote village. 1½ mile past Onecote take the second turning on the right into Butterton. Drive through Butterton to the far edge of the village and bear left towards Hulme End. We are located ¾ mile down this lane on the right. The entrance to our driveway is clearly marked.

The owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome - tea and biscuits awaited us in the kitchen on arrival. We stayed in the Coach House with our 3 children for 4 nights. This is a very well appointed cottage with all the mod cons. Plenty of space in all the rooms and very convenient to have 2 bathrooms. We have just returned from a mid-week stay in the Haybarn cottage at Swainsley Farm and felt it deserved a glowing review.
