Wow, wow, wow! Goldsbourgh cottage is just one of those places which does exactly what it says on the tin, and more.
We were welcomed by both John & Diana, who are a lovely couplle and this is reflected in the attention to detail of their property, we even had home baked scones and carrot cake, which Dad ensured was left for him!
Overlooking the Hury reservoir. Goldsbough cottage is so tranquil with the foot of the Pennines way sitting on it's door, and a world of adventure not more than a 15min drive in any direction.
We as a family with young children (10 & 7) made the most of the location and walked to both High force water fall and Barnard castle.
The kids loved the adventure and exploring, must say they loved the smaller waterfall behind bowesley tourist board, which was really cool.
The cottage was so well equipped we cannot recall anywhere else being like this, the cottage was truly immaculate, and extremely cozy.
For us, we think we have discovered a little bit of paradise hidden away from anywhere, and anyone.
So ifyou want a beautiful cottage, with the most amazing scenery, in one of the most friendly places with an abundance of the most friendly folk you ever want to meet, Goldsbourgh cottage is that place.
Just remember, if you want HD TV, outside Hot tub, mini fridge, swimming pool and a kiddies club, this is not it.
But if you were looking for what we wanted, a family retreat, to explore and play games, Goldsbourgh will tick your box.
A huge thank you to John and Diana, I never got carrot cake better anywhere while out and about, and we hope to see you soon.
Cheers
