5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Having read the previous review we very nearly didn't book the cottage, but I'm glad we ignored it and booked!! This a lovely cottage located in a beautiful part of Ireland. We took our baby son here for his first holiday and we all had a great time. I would recommend a visit to hook head light house, curracole beach and Wexford town. I shall now try and address some of the issues in the previous review.

Location: We had no problems finding the cottage, clear directions provided. The cottage is on farm land so the scenery was exactley what we expected. There are some walks sign posted in the area, plenty of local walks can be found on tourism websites.

Owners: Denis called in on the second night, he was friendly and unintrusive. Helena was friendly and eager to ensure we had a good stay.

Facilities: No wifi which was a good thing!! (You can get a phone signal though). Cottage was clean and well equipped, no problems cooking a Sunday lunch with equipment...

Rather out of the way place, which was difficult in finding. The scenery is very flat in the area with views across very ordinary fields. We had hoped to do some walking in the area but there did not seem to be any walking paths/trails/signs. There are some nice places to visit but everything seemed to be such a distance away because of the isolation of the property. Looks nice in the photographs of the property and has character but is rather well worn throughout and could do with an upgrade. Insufficient towels provided in bathroom, shower door was ill-fitted and difficult to open/close and hot water in shower was difficult to regulate. It was either too cold or too hot. No cold water whatsoever from the tap on washbasin. Toilet seat broken in main bathroom and although there was a note left that it would be fixed the day after arrival, it never was. Keys to the property were left in the door on arrival and we never saw or heard from the owners all week, which we... more

Management response:

Your comments have been noted by us: Please note the following: 1) In our nine years in business all of our visitors have adored our local landscape. Never once have we had another call our scenery "flat". 2) The directions to our property are extremely straight forward and again in our nine years of business we have had no complaints... more
