    3 Dukes has a cosy living room with 2 comfortable leather sofas and a log burning stove set in a feature fireplace. Wi-Fi access is available in the cottage should you wish to use it and for relaxing nights in, there is a flatscreen TV and DVD player. On sunny days the sunroom is the perfect place to relax with a coffee which adjoins the lounge, or to enjoy the outdoors there is an enclosed rear garden which has a garden seat for you to sit out and relax. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge freezer, double toaster and dishwasher as well as a dining table with seating for six.

This property welcomes one well behaved dog at an additional charge of £20 per week, or £10 for a short break. A 3 night weekend break or 4 night midweek break is available at 66% of the weekly rate. A 33% deposit is required at time of booking. Final Balance due 6 weeks before arrival.

    The cottage is located in the village of Backworth on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne The village is easy to get to by car or public transport. There is a regular bus service from Newcastle City Centre.

    Driving to the cottage is very straight forward, the village is signposted from the A1 north and is south of Seaton Burn.

    Cheap flights are available from many major European cities to Newcastle Airport through operators such as Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 and others and the cottage is only an hours drive from the airport.

    Access by train is from Newcastle station which is on the East Coast Main Line from London to Edinburgh. Backworth village is approx. a 20 minute taxi ride.

Just had a long weekend with friends and two dogs at no.3, Gordon & Caroline (the owners) really do go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and comfortable! A fantastic place to stay. The cottage was gorgeous, very tastefully decorated.
