    Oaker View an 18th Century cottage is situated in a tucked away location, close to the heart of the Derbyshire village of Darley Bridge, which straddles the River Derwent. This historical building which is personally managed by the owners is believed to have been built in 1757 as a farmworkers cottage and has lost none of its natural charm with it's exposed beams and substantial Derbyshire stone lintel over the fireplace in the lounge.

    Oaker View has lovely views over the Peak District National Park which can be reached by a footpath, just metres from the front door. Darley Bridge boasts two pubs that both serve food and are within walking distance of the cottage. Enjoyed a super four day stay in October. Cottage had all facilities and was very clean and well presented. Perfect location to explore the area and for local walks - our springer enjoyed the break as much as we did .Will return and recommend without reserve . more

We found Oaker Cottage through the Peak District site and what a find. We were met at the door on day of arrival, by the owner Tina who showed us around and explained where things were and how the tv, heating etc worked. Everything about this cottage we loved, the setting, the amenities and the location but what for us was the icing on the cake, apart from the lovely log burner was the incredible number of birds that visited the bird table.
