Our stay at La Bastide was memorable for the most wonderful hot and sunny weather and its setting in a quiet rural hamlet with beautiful bell wearing Serrez cows grazing in fields beside the house. A working farm is very close by but its activities were largely unobtrusive, even though they were hay making.
The cottage has recently had its renovations completed with new floors and plastering. We had all we needed and everything worked apart from the loo which was noisy filling but we did work out one quick press on both buttons stopped the noise. The walls are very thick and kept the house cool whilst outside boiled in ferocious temperatures. As just two adults, we only made use of one bedroom at the end of the house which had a very comfy bed and was lovely looking through the stone window frame onto the garden. The garden has shade and we had the use of a plastic table and chairs.
