Minffordd is an old slate miner's cottage with fantastic views of Ceiriog Valley, described by Lloyd George as 'a little bit of heaven on earth'. It's cosy and characterful and the location is great for walking, cycling, mountain biking, fishing, horse riding from the door and exploring the local heritage and attractions in the area.

The cottage has a balcony which overlooks the valley and River Ceiriog where you can enjoy the views and the sound of the river. Wood is provided for the wood burning stove to relax in front of the fire on cooler evenings and there's Wi-FI Internet, satellite TV, books, DVDs and a short walk away a village shop, post office, cash point, pharmacy and two pubs offering food.

Beautiful, cosy cottage with a very comfortable, private, homely feel. Very well equipped and the owner is lovely, very helpful and responds quickly to communications. The directions are clear and easy to follow, and there is plentiful, easy parking as well as a very well-stocked village shop. The locals are delightful and very welcoming. Everybody speaks English but will help... more

The heating is a little antiquated but gets going eventually. The hot water has to be put on boost (the owner specifies for... more

Management response:

We aim to provide good accommodation, at a very modest price, in a fantastic location but we would like to be greener... The cottage has antique and vintage furniture and maps and books of the local area which add character to the original 1850's fireplace. Wood for the fire is provided. Towels in the bathroom and kitchen are provided and... more

Minfford cottage is a fantastic place if you need is a roaring fire, comfortable beds, a lovely view and some peace and quiet! Great value for money. Excellent communication from Ruth. Fantastic food in The Oak and a good pint in the local. A truly stunning valley, particularly with the leaves turning at this time of year. A great cottage... more
