We rented Kookaburra Cottage for 3 nights, and would highly recommend it. It is great to find good value accommodation with three rooms – allowing the moody teens to sleep in or have their own space when needed.
Located in a reasonably quiet location near a school (the church bells did wake us one morning!), the cottage is a short stroll to downtown if you would like to walk. This well looked after miner’s cottage had all that we needed, including the necessary kitchen fit out to do our own catering. This house also shares a laundry with the next door cottage, with ubiquitous Hills Hoist also available for your use.
* The “mini bar” in the fridge – a great idea of purchase or replace.
* The great breakfast supplies provided by Hugh on arrival (you check-in/out at the Caledonian B&B), which also included the offer to visit the (extensive) DVD library for use while we stayed.
