The landlord Noam Smadja is very handy and the service was great! Everything in the apartment was in good working order, which you can't take for granted in Israel. There was even a washer/dryer and dishwasher, and a large amount of cutlery, dishes, and pots. It was a bit too cold in the bathroom and Noam was worried about my using a space heater there, so he installed a ceiling heater! Also he swapped out the CFL bulbs for incandescent ones in the main living areas because my eyes are sensitive to CFL bulbs. Overall very impressive.
The apartment is on the top floor (3 flights up, no elevator). The advantage of this is that it is quiet: noone walking around at 2 a.m. above your head. Also, it is more secure than a ground floor apartment since thieves don't like to climb stairs to find their prey and leaning a ladder against a building is a bit too conspicuous.
