Our stay of four days at The Byre felt too short in the end. The owners have done an amazing restoration job, managing to strike the right balance between quaint/rural and modern/convenient.
The location is relatively isolated, so a car is advisable. However this isolation means that the setting is truly stunning, being perched up on a hill surrounded on all sides by mountains and countryside. (The Byre has the best views of the cottages collectively named Sakli Vadi.) It was a perfect place to relax, but there are also plenty of places to visit and things to do in the wider area. The location is far enough away from the bustle of Fethiye, and yet only a 15-20 min drive away by car. If you can’t be bothered to cook, there are also lots of good places to eat nearby. There was plenty of outside seating and a great little deck with loungers and a welcome plunge pool. There was also plenty of flora and fauna to get acquainted with.
