Description:
Featured on the 2008 AIA Homes Tour, this house is one of the two houses featured by the architecture firm Lamme & Misi Urban Studio.
Designed with all-sustainable design parameters, the house can accommodate up to 4 people: 1 bedroom suite with home office upstairs, and one sofa-bed downstairs in living room.
All living spaces are designed to bridge the connection between man-made and nature. The living room connects to the private courtyard through movable glass walls, allowing the house to be opened up completely to the outdoors, where the 70+ year-old pecan tree shades the house's courtyards and roof gardens.
The house was designed for natural light and natural ventilation, providing the guests with fresh air, brightness and tree-top views through the many operable windows and bright white walls.
The art on the walls are carefully placed to bring color in, while highlighting the modern architecture and its white volumes. The sustainably grown hickory of the flooring upstairs creates intimacy and luxury.
The darkly stained concrete downstairs promote cleanliness and warmth.
The property is cleaned extensively between rentals. All linens are fresh and bright white. Fresh flowers give a final touch to the pristine environment.
This is a perfect getaway for couples or families. It's so close to downtown, and yet, to nature and perfectly secluded.
