We are nature lovers and Cabina Guanacaste was perfect for us. The cabina is set high in the rainforest and is surrounded by wildlife. On our first afternoon we had an amazing experience, finding a new born baby sloth on the forest floor and then watching as the mother followed the distress calls to come and find her baby. During our one week stay we were also lucky enough to see an anteater, white faced capuchins, peccary, coati and deer; all just outside the cabin. The leaf cutter ants are fascinating and you are also surrounded by colourful butterflys and birds.
The view from the cabin is spectacular, looking out over to the beach in the distance. Luke and Devon are excellent hosts, very welcoming and available whenever needed.
A short drive further south leads to less crowded beaches and if you are visiting during the turtle nesting or hatching season we can recommend joining an evening patrol at Reserva Playa Tortuga. They ask for a small donation ($10 each... more
