    This traditional cottage, dating from the 1800s was bought in very poor condition and has been completely and lovingly restored to the highest standards. It was re- thatched by a master thatcher in 2012 and sits in nearly seven acres running down to its own river.

    There are two bedrooms, one with a king size (5ft) bed based on a traditional Irish style dating from 1918 and a twin room both with pocket sprung mattress, walnut floors and beautiful, fine quality linen. The bathroom is tiled in pale pink marble, with underfloor heating, 8' drenching shower, free standing slipper bath and heated towel rail.

    Traditional open-plan kitchen/sitting room with a real fire and two cottage fireside chairs. Modern electric range with five ring ceramic hob, two ovens, grill and plate warmer. Kitchen has all Miele appliances (dishwasher, fridge and washing machine) and a Belfast sink. Handmade pink and oak dresser and table and chairs. Excellent quality china and kitchen equipment.

    Master Bedroom: King size (5 ft) bed with excellent quality pocket sprung mattress, fine bedding and linen. The bed is modelled on an original Irish design dating from 1918. Walnut floor, armchair and Manuel Canovas curtains.

    Twin Room: two sweet single beds, walnut floors and views to Killybegs in the distance.

    Airport: Donegal Airport: 52.0 km
    There are regular flights to City of Derry Airport with Ryanair from London Stansted, Birmingham, Liverpool and Glasgow Prestwick. The Cottage is a 1hr 30 min drive from City of Derry Airport via Letterkenny, Donegal Town and then over to Killybegs on the N56.

    There are also flights from Glasgow International and Dublin to Donegal Airport with Flybe at Gweedore which is a 50 minute drive away from the Cottage.

Everything was excellent here in Honey Cottage. Everything promised was delivered and more. If you want somewhere to relax and switch off completely, this is the place. more

We arrived to freshly baked scones and wheaten bread. A stunning, traditional cottage where every detail is thought about. Cosy, a haven from the world and the comfiest bed I've ever slept in. A perfect break in a perfect cottage. We'll definitely be back! more

My husband and I stayed in Honey Cottage for a long weekend ( 3 nights) at the end of December and we had the most amazing time. The cottage is beautiful with all mod cons and is very comfortable to stay in. The cottage is quiet isolated ( you need a car) but this is a positive in my books.... more
