    At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that Larch House looks like a standard barn conversion; A stone building, sitting in the grounds of a Galloway farm, but this is truly out of the ordinary. I think 'Wow', every time I walk through the door. The sense of space and light is instantly calming.

    Larch House is set in the heart of Galloway's great outdoors just 3 miles from Castle Douglas with it's fine shops, galleries, cafes and eateries.

    It is a perfect base for the many mountain bike trails in the area and for road cycling. There is secure storage for your sports equipment and mountain bike guiding is available with a qualified local guide.

    Larch house has been built to an exacting standard in a contemporary style but keeping the essence of rural living, off the beaten track but within 2 miles of the euro route. It benefits from a south facing aspect and has a light open plan feel to the main living area. It has a great deal of ecological aspects including solar panels to heat the water, under floor heating from the log burner and the whole house is super insulated. All these eco measures have been used without compromising luxury living.

    Egyptian cotton has been used throughout for the bedding and towels and goose down duvets .
    All appliances are brand new.

    We think Larch House offers stylish, luxurious and cosy accommodation for families or groups of friends keen to explore this unique landscape.

    Dogs are welcome for £20/week and £15/weekend each. Please bring your dog's bed too.

    Short breaks where available are based on a three night minimum stay at weekends and a four night minimum stay during the week.

    Payment may be made by online banking and by cheque. Please allow up to 2 weeks for cheques to clear.

    Unless otherwise agreed, a booking deposit of £150 is payable for holidays booked more than 8 weeks in advance. Holidays booked less than 8 weeks in advance - payment is required in full. Final balance is due 8 weeks in advance of the booked holiday. A £150 refundable security deposit is taken at the time the final balance is due to safeguard against breakages additional cleaning and damage. See terms and conditions at time of booking.

This is a beautifully designed house overlooking a typical Galloway view of farmland and hills. We stayed for Christmas and the owners very kindly supplied a decorated tree.
