The first thing that strikes you about the setting is the sound - not the hubbub of people, traffic, the hustle and bustle of modern life, but the sound of SILENCE. This silence is then gently filled with sounds of nature: water gurgling off the fields and into the valley bottom, sheep with their lambs in the fields, sparrows in the hedgerows, a woodpecker in some distant trees.
Cae'r Hendre is a comfortable, cosy cottage converted from an old barn. House Martins nest in the eaves, herbs grow by the door and sheep chew the cud below the windows. A wood stove provides warmth and comfort on chilly evenings, ably-assisted by an electric under-blanket on the bed upstairs.
