The house itself was very nice with its split floor plan and location in a safe residential neighborhood. The price and late notice availability were our biggest decision makers. The pool and screened in patio area were also very nice, even though the ambient temperatures restricted the use of both.
When we first entered the house, it was filled with gasoline vapors that we traced to an unsealed gas can in the garage. When the air handler located in the garage attic ran, it circulated the vapors throughout the house. We resolved this smelly and dangerous issue by sealing the can and keeping the overhead garage door open a few inches. The well water smelled horribly and was enough to make us gag, especially when in an enclosed area like the shower. This odor persisted for the two weeks we were there and didn’t dissipate by flowing it for any length of time.
