We just came back from an extraordinary week's stay at Amy and Lahcen's house. The house is even more amazing then the pictures - high ceilings, lots of light, huge bedrooms and all the mod cons you would expect. We enjoyed dinner in their lovely garden and watched the sunset from the rooftop.
Amy arranged a taxi to pick us up from Agadir airport (just over 1.5 hours away) and someone was waiting for us at the house to show us round. MIrleft village - only a 2 minute walk away - is very typically Moroccan. A little souk dotted with artisan shops, a daily market (where you can buy fresh fruit, veg, fish, spices, etc), and lots of coffee shops/restaurants if you don't feel like cooking. Most importantly the locals are extremely warm and friendly. Our 2.5 year old son loved it and got lots of attention. The beaches were a little way away for his little legs (fine for adults though) but we easily hitched a ride from the locals (or you could rent a car/get a taxi.) We spent all... more
