My husband and I stayed at Muirmailing with our young children (2.5 years and 1 year old) for a week in March. The cottage is a lovely mix of the old building with lots of modern yet homely features inside. It's set up very well for children - we were able to request a highchair, stair gates and cot which saved us packing those bulky extras! It is also stocked with everything you could need - all kitchen and bathroom products - with a system that you replace what you finish. This works brilliantly.
Wendy and Graham are very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on places to visit, where to park and which roads to take (thank you!). And we were delighted to see the ponies and dogs every day. It feels like you are part of the working nursery.
Muirmailing is in a great location, very peaceful but with good links to towns and cities. We enjoyed trips to Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Loch Lomond and Edinburgh, all easily accessible. We could not fault it at all, it was the perfect... more
