I am super happy about everything other than the internet connection. Both our specific location and the entire island were awesome on so many levels, and quite unexpected.
We loved watching ocean sunsets every night. Loved picking wild lingonberry, blackberry, and mushrooms. Loved cooking fresh scallops from Beals on a charcoal grill using dead pinewood that there's plenty of. Catching mussels, crabs and starfish as well as natural rock climbing was fun for children. Barefoot jogging on long private dirt road and swimming in ice-cold water was fun for me. I was also impressed by the amount of farmers markets and pastured/organic foods availability on the island (most other rural areas are not like that at all).
The internet connection is not easily fixable: the DSL is half dead because of the distance. Cable (TimeWarner) would require about a $10k investment to run there. I had TW to do an assessment of running a cable and the owner may want to follow up...
