We stayed for a weekend for the Marlborough Jazz Festival, but the cottage would have made an excellent holiday on its own. Everything was thoughtfully arranged, and we appreciated the welcome note and provision to make tea. We found everything comfortable and efficient , like the television and shower. Any snags? You need to take care on the stairs, and the sloping ceiling in the bedroom can catch you out, but you soon learn!

The village is in a lovely area, and we enjoyed a walk along the towpath of the Kennet and Avon canal, and were delighted to find at the end that the Cross Keys Inn specialised in vegetarian meals. The post office next door sells papers and milk and many other things, and there is a well-stocked convenience store and bakery nearby. It is well placed for visiting Marlborough, and I am sure there is a great deal more to be discovered if we visit again, as we should be pleased to do.
