    A few minutes walk from downtown Marshall and only 25 minutes from Asheville! This Victorian era house is perfect for family reunions, as a wedding guesthouse, company retreat or for a reunion of friends. The 2 floors can be separated and independent as each level has it's own kitchen and bathrooms.

    This century-old house was in decline when we bought it 22 years ago. We have resurrected the splendor of the structure; reclaiming original trim wood and flooring that was fashioned with virgin timber from this region in the Blue Ridge mountains. My husband, Tom, has done most of the renovation himself, incorporating his artistic flair and unusual floor plan designs. We have created private and common spaces in this roomy house. .

    Marshall is an eclectic little river town that has a thriving art and music culture and it's just a 5 minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is safe and friendly. There is parking right up to the house for 3 or 4 cars.There is white water rafting, hiking, horseback riding , snow-boarding and skiing and hot springs within a short distance. Zuma's coffee shop/ restaurant has Blues night on Monday, open mic on Wednesday and Bluegrass night on Thursday. Dinner is available and the musicians are fantastic! Good Stuff is our local bar and features live music. The Pork and Pie restaurant offers great food and Pot Pie has delicious take out. The Madison County Art's Council has on-going special events and is the heart of arts in the county. Flow gallery on main street features local artists and the old high school on the island has been transformed into studios for textile artists, painters, potters, woodworkers, herbalists, creative clothing and more.
