The house is beautifully located -- on a relatively quiet stretch of beach. But the interior of the house could use a little work. The kitchen sink was so badly stained that it made washing dishes gruesome (and there are a lot of dishes to wash when you're with family at the beach). The refrigerator door handle was covered in some kind of slimy padding. Some of the lights didn't work. And the TVs, with VCR's (remember VCR's?) were pretty much impossible to use without instructions (we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what to do).
We have two complaints about Oak Island Accommodations. When we arrived at the house, the toaster was badly broken -- with a heating coil sticking out the top. We asked for a new toaster, and were told someone would bring it right over, and that was the last we heard. We never saw a new toaster.
And Oak Island Accommodations takes 45 days to return the security deposit. There is no excuse for this. If you leave the house in... more
