Upon arrival our first thoughts were that the cleaning staff could do a better job, within half an hour of being there the little one had picked up a used contact lens, an empty packet of Hula Hoops, a chewing gum wrapper and a large stone. The living room carpet is full of stains, wouldn’t normally bother me, but not nice when you have a 16 month old crawler.I also had to remove a used cotton wool pad which was stuck to the bathroom wall.
The cottage is well stocked with everything we needed to be able to cook in the evenings. The mattress on the upstairs bed is extremely uncomfortable and lumpy, after not sleeping for the first night; we laid a duvet on top of it and slept fine after this. The straps on the highchair were also filthy, covered in yellow/orange stains.
We had a problem with the DVD player, we were sent a replacement Scart cable, and when this did not work, a gentleman arrived with a new DVD player which was useful as it meant the little one could...
