    This cosy one bedroomed cottage is part of the old parsonage in Garrigill. Situated on the North Pennines, just 4 miles from the main town at Alston, the Pennine Way and C2C pass the front door. Plenty of walking and cycling and sightseeing straight out of the village, or just a short drive to Hadrians Wall Country. Around an hours drive away, we also have the shopping metropolis of Newcastle, beautiful city of Carlisle and the Lake District National Park.

    After a busy day exploring, come back home and relax in the sauna and jacuzzi at St Johns Pool.     We are 4miles outside Alston and easily found in the heart of the village just off the Village Green and next door to the Village Hall.

    Travelling from the M6 why not stop off in picturesque Penrith, or the Village Bakery in Melmerby? From the A1 Middleton in Teesdale and the delightful Bowlees Centre is worth a stop for a tea break.

The owner/manager was very warm and friendly, all she lsted on the website was exactly as it was. beautiful scenic views enroute and around it, lovely, family friendly but quiet village. We had such a nice relaxing time. The cottage is lovely. I really enjoyed the Pool, Jacuzzi and Sauna it was Amazing. Alston town is just a couple of miles away for a nice fresh meal. We visited the cottage last weekend and had a wonderful time. Beautiful scenery and a charming tiny village! So peaceful and tranquil. Lovely nearby walks and even managed to see 3 red squirrels!! The pool was a huge hit with my sons (13 & 11). more
