Low Mill is a charming Visit England 4* 17th Century cottage near Lakeside.Originally used by the mill workers at the nearby Bobbin Mill, the mill is now a museum owned by English Heritage. Lakeside is home to the Windermere Lake Cruises, Aquarium of The Lakes and The Haverthwaite steam railway. Treks and trails for walkers and cyclists are in abundance, and cycles can be hired at The Lakeside. Fell Foot Park, can be reached by a short ferry ride, where rowing boats and canoes can be hired.

Locally, High Dam, known as 'The Hidden Tarn Hows' makes for a delightful walk, from the cottage door.
'Go Ape' great for adults and children alike is situated in the nearby Grizedale Forest. Several 4* hotels are close by, The Swan at Newby Bridge, The Lakeside. Michelin star L'Enclume restaurant at Cartmel- 4 miles away.

Low Mill is a lovely cottage very well situated to explore the lake district. t was very comfortable and convenient for a family of five. The surroundings are peaceful and pleasant, close to lake Windemere. We had a wonderful time and discovered an exceptionally beautiful area. We stayed with 5 people, all adults, at the Low Mill for a midweek. Way to short for what the Lake District and the nearby surroundings of Low Mill Cottage has to offer. The cottage is situated just off the road from Lakeside in between two other cottages so going by car is a must. High Dam is at least 25 minutes walk from Cottage but very pleasent, even in the rain! The cottage itself will have everything you need, its clean comfortable and once you get the log burner going very relaxing.... more

After parking your car, at the rear of the property, you enter the delightful garden/patio, where you can enjoy meals 'al fresco', then enter via the modern kitchen. The rest of the downstairs has traditional slate flooring, original ledged and braced wooden doors and chic furnishings.The lounge/dining room has French doors, that open onto the patio for when the weather is warm and sunny, and a woodburner stove for the chilly winter evenings, although there is also full oil central heating at the property , together with LCD TV and a DVD.
