    Holiday Rental House –
    1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2
'The Cowshed' was indeed historically a cowshed on what used to be a farm. In 2011, this Grade II listed building was fully renovated to be holiday-let accommodation. The cottage is ideal for guests wishing to be in close proximity to open countryside (half a mile by car, or 300m via public footpath), and for easy access to Manchester via rail link (half hour journey).
Please note: although still on the same site as the old farmhouse, the farm is no more, and the land has become urban development over the centuries; the property itself is not now in open countryside (see map/satellite view).
Most visitors prefer to visit by car, and there is ample parking space both right in front of, and beside the cottage. There are two small outside seating areas: right outside, and a few yards...

    How to get there
Avoid Satnav when you get to Cliffe Road - this has caused problems before! The property is opposite house number 37 Cliffe Road, twenty metres down a driveway, then the entrance gate is on the right. Park outside the Cowshed in the turning circle, or round the side of the cottage if you prefer. The owners live on the same property, at Flatt Farm, the old house set sideways to Cliffe Road (this used to be the farmhouse at what was a farm prior to development).
Please feel free to contact the owners for their opinion of the easiest way to get to Glossop from your area.

The Cowshed is a well designed compact cottage which is ideal for 2 people. We spent 4 nights here and were very comfortable - there are lots of little touches provided by the owners to make it an enjoyable stay. If we went back to this area again we would not hesitate to stay here again and can highly recommend... more

We stayed here with our toddler son whilst looking at houses in the area. The cottage is perched on top of a hill and has a wonderful views over the glossopdale hills. in the evening we were lucky to get stunning sunsets. However, the cottage is still only walking distance from the centre and near a very nice pub "The... more

We arrived on Friday and were greeted by the owners, Wendy and Andrew who showed us round and gave us some advice on places to go. And they'd baked chocolate brownies which was a nice touch. And fresh flowers too. They'd also emailed prior to us setting off to give directions and to ask what kind of milk we wanted.... more
