Desperately in need of a break away, we booked Quarterdeck Cottage based solely on the pictures. The reality turned out to be very different. Upon arrival at the entrance gates, we drove into a beautiful courtyard with picturesque mature flowerbeds and gardens. A converted Oast House and Medieval Hall House nestled within the grounds, provided the perfect setting. It was stunning! We were met by the owners and given very warm welcome. We were shown to the cottage and upon entry into the kitchen, we were presented with a loaf of freshly baked bread and a small pot of home made jam (both excellent).
The bedroom looked out through a pair of patio doors and across the lake. A superb view, vey calming and restful. Think of Colin Firth and Aurelia in "Love Actually" and you get the idea.
